Kam Thindal

Managing Partner

Kam Thindal is a co-founder of Core Capital Partners (formerly Hamza Thindal Capital Corp.) and serves as the firm’s Managing Partner. Prior to founding Core, Kam spent 5 years as an independent capital markets advisor for a number of TSX Venture Exchange listed companies. Over the course of that time he was involved in several financings across multiples sectors.

For the past four years Kam has sourced investments, negotiated financings and acquisitions in various sectors with a particular focus on Biotech, Health Care and Special Situations. He has been involved in leading transactions in both private and public companies.

Prior to his career in venture capital Kam spent 5 years at a private manufacturing company in Vancouver, Canada where he helped restructure the company, optimize operations, introduce new products and evolve the company from a family run business to a multi-national brand.

Kam holds a Bachelor of Technology in Technology Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Yazan Al Homsi, CFA

Vice President, Investments

Yazan Al Homsi is the Vice President of Investments for Core Capital Partners. Over the past 7 years Yazan has worked with Core in the process of selecting investments. Yazan is an experienced and successful investor in Canadian junior companies and over the past few years has focused on the Biotech, Technology and Health Care sectors.

Yazan has been involved in several merger and acquisition and IPO related financial due diligence and valuation engagements in various sectors including: catering, financial services, leasing, construction and contracting and retail.

Yazan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in Canada with distinctive honors major in finance and concentration in accounting and he is a CFA Charter holder.

Aman Thindal, CPA, CA

Chief Financial Officer

Aman Thindal is the Chief Financial Officer at Core Capital Partners. He has over 6 years of experience and knowledge as an independent investor and has provided consulting services to private companies.

Prior to joining Core, Aman spent 4 years as a partner and CFO of a Greater Vancouver based private mid-tier real estate development company where he played an active role in land acquisitions, financial management, human resources and marketing of the company’s projects. During his tenure Aman helped the company secure over $75,000,000 in both traditional mortgage and private equity financing.

At Core Capital, Aman is responsible for financial due diligence, corporate structuring and tax management strategies.

Aman obtained his Chartered Accountant Designation in 2010 and he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with joint concentration in Accounting and Finance from Simon Fraser University.

Pardeep Luddu


Pardeep Luddu is an Associate with Core Capital Partners and joined the firm in 2015. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. He manages the firm’s marketing efforts with a focus on digital and back office administration.

Advisory Board

Dr. William Panenka, MD, MSc, FRCPC


Dr. Panenka advises Core Capital on technologies in the Health Care sector.

Dr. Panenka received his M.D. and M.Sc. from the University of Calgary in Canada. His MSc was focussed on basic neuroscience and employed techniques such as Western Blotting, PCR, In-situ hybridization and other wet lab techniques. He then completed residencies in both psychiatry and in neurology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. During residency Will was involved in a number of research projects ranging from molecular studies in models of brain injury and inflammation, to imaging studies in individuals with psychiatric disease. He began a research fellowship in 2011 focusing on MRI imaging correlates of addiction in a cohort of socially disadvantaged, largely drug addicted individuals in Vancouver. The second phase of this project focused on traumatic brain injury, which brought Will to Harvard in September 2012 to learn more sophisticated MRI techniques applicable to neurological and psychiatric diseases. He accepted an academic position as an assistant professor at the University of British Columbia in July 2013 and currently developing a research program in brain injury and addiction.

Mr. Bob Rai


Mr. Rai advises Core Capital in the areas of pharmaceuticals, commercial strategy and government relations.

Mr. Rai is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Science. In addition to operating a chain of The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacies in Greater Vancouver for the past 15 years he has had several successful entrepreneurial and charitable endeavors. In 1998 Mr. Rai and his partners’ pioneered and revolutionized the online pharmacy business to the United States. The online sales and distribution of prescription medicines saw unprecedented industry growth and as other operators followed suit, the unique business concept became a billion dollar industry across Canada.

Mr. Rai is also Chairman and CEO of Canada Pacific Global Pharmaceuticals and Chairman of it’s subsidiary: PharmaCanada Inc. He has served as President of the Philippines Canada Trade Council (PCTC) from 2006-2007 and held the position of Vice-President from 2004-2006. As President of PCTC, he led a successful Trade Mission to Manila with endorsements from His Excellency Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Honorable Premier Gordon Campbell of British Columbia and Minister of International Trade and Industry of Canada David Emerson.

Mr.Rai’s charitable and community volunteer activities include: Alumni UBC Advisory Council representing the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science, Director of Tapestry Foundation for Health Care, Rotary Club of Vancouver Fraserview and cabinet member of “A Night of Miracles” for BC Children’s Hospital.

Mr. Lance Young, MBA


Mr. Young advises Core Capital in the areas of private equity and corporate strategy.

Mr. Young is an executive, film financier, and buy-side advisor for various entertainment, media, and gaming companies. Mr. Young graduated from Harvard Business School and the USC Cinema/Television program where he subsequently taught as a professor in the Peter Stark Program.

He began his career at Paramount Pictures and Warner Brothers where he served as a senior executive on over 30 major motion pictures including Top Gun, The Hunt for Red October, Days of Thunder, Black Rain, The Pelican Brief, and Dennis the Menace. Mr. Young currently lectures worldwide in the area of 3-D technology and production. From 1999-2010, Mr. Young was Head of Creative Affairs and Production for DreamWorks Animation. Mr. Young has consulted on many film finance deals and recently stuctured the Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and Machete Kills. At DreamWorks, Mr. Young maintained oversight in development and production of films from inception through release. During his tenure DreamWorks released 10 films including Shrek, Shrek II, Shark Tale, Shrek the Third, Bee Movie, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, and How To Train Your Dragon. Before that, Mr. Young wrote and directed Bliss, a critically acclaimed love story for Columbia Pictures.

As an advisor and financier his clients include: GTCR, Guggenheim Partners, CitiGroup, Orpheus Entertainment, Mutagen Games, Xbox Live, Imagi, 3M, Bay Mutual Financial, Beijing Film Studio, DreamWorks Animation, Warner Brothers, Dimension films, and Starz Animation.
